Van Wilder (Ryan Reynolds), a popular slacker and seventh year college senior, spends his days throwing parties and goofing off. When his father insists that he do something with his life, he decides to become a professional party thrower. Gwen (Tara Reid), a reporter for the school paper, writes an unflattering story on the infamous Van Wilder and an angry – and smitten - Van dares her to get the true story.

" National Lampoon’s Van Wilder" was Sophia's first movie. She plays a temptress coed who seduces Van and makes Gwen jealous.
